I am not an AFFCU member, how can I open the America Saves Club account?
If you are a new member opening your account between February 25 and March 2, you will be able to open the America Saves Club account online when completing the membership application process or by stepping into your nearest branch.
How many America Saves Club accounts can be opened on a single AFFCU account?
You can open as many America Saves Club accounts as you would like on a single AFFCU account.
My child has a Coindexter Kids Club account or a JetSpace Teen account, are they able to open the America Saves Club too?
Yes! We encourage all of our members to practice good saving habits.
Why is this account only available from February 25 through March 2, 2019?
The America Saves Club account was created to support the America Saves and Military Saves Week initiative, which occurs from February 25 through March 2, 2019. The goal is to encourage everyone to build wealth by saving automatically.
Why isn’t there a minimum deposit required to open the account?
Because our goal with this special savings account is to encourage our members to save automatically, no immediate deposits or transfers will be allowed into the account by an AFFCU representative or through CyberMAT Online Banking, MAT Phone Banking, or the Go AFFCU mobile banking app when opening. Any deposits made into the account must be done through an automatic deposit or transfer.
What is the rate on the America Saves Club account?
The rate will be 3.05% APY*. This rate is only guaranteed through March 1, 2020.
How can I make deposits into the America Saves Club account?

What is the maximum amount that I can deposit into the America Saves Club account?
The maximum that can be deposited into this account is $1,000 per calendar month.
What happens if I deposit more than $1,000 in a calendar month?
The monthly excess will be directed to your primary share account.
What happens if I need to withdraw my funds from my America Saves Club account before the maturity date?
You are able to make withdrawals from this account; however, for every early withdrawal you make, a $10 early withdrawal fee will be charged to the account.
Will there be any fees charged to the America Saves Club account?
The only fees that you may be responsible for is a $10 early withdrawal fee for every withdrawal done before maturity and a $29 fee for any ACH deposit that is returned for any reason.
What if I need to close my America Saves Club account before maturity?
Earned dividends for the current month will be posted to the account and then you will be charged a $10 early withdrawal fee. You will be responsible for stopping the electronic transfers into your account.
What will happen to my funds when this account reaches the maturity date of March 1, 2020?
You will receive a mailed notice advising you of the America Saves Club ending balance and the funds will automatically be transferred into your primary share account.
Will my America Saves Club account close when it matures?
The funds in the account will be transferred to your primary share account at the time of maturity. The account will remain open and you can continue making deposits into the account for the following year’s America Saves Week initiative.

What is America Saves and Military Saves Week?
Started in 2007, America Saves Week and Military Saves week is an annual opportunity for AFFCU and hundreds of other organizations to promote good savings behavior and a chance for individuals to assess their savings and take financial action. Organizations and military installations everywhere will be hosting financial education events, fairs, seminars, and classes during this week to motivate and encourage service members, military families and every single American to save money, reduce debt, and build wealth.
Those with a savings plan are two times as likely to save for emergencies and retirement than those without one. Join more than 500,000 American Savers who have already committed to save, and take the America Saves Pledge or Military Saves Pledge. The pledge can be accomplished in three easy steps – “Set a Goal. Make a Plan. Save Automatically”. It’s all about making the commitment to yourself to save.
