    A Message To Our Members

    We want to begin by saying – THANK YOU! Thank you to our members for your strength, patience, and understanding you’ve extended to us over these past few months as we have been taking on several substantial steps to protect our employees, members and community during this difficult time.

    AFFCU has continued to move quickly to make sure all of our members have access to the financial services and relief that we know will give them peace of mind.  The health, safety and well-being of our members and employees remains our top priority. This includes your financial well-being.

    Easy and contactless access for all of your AFFCU banking needs has been our commitment. We are now ready to welcome our members back into the majority of our branch offices.  AFFCU has expanded how you can conduct your banking transactions and you can use the tabs on this page to pick your perfect way.

    Everyday Banking

    Members have full access to their funds at all branch drive-thru lanes, ATMs, and ITMs. Drive-thru lanes are open Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT and Saturday from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM CT.

    *Note: The AFFCU-Main Branch on JBSA-Lackland will be CLOSED on Saturdays. The AFFCU-Columbus, Mississippi Branch hours are Monday – Friday 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM and  Saturday from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

    Here are several ways you can access your accounts and complete all your financial transactions:

    Member Contact Center

    • Our Member Contact Center representatives are ready to assist you, Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT and Saturdays from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM CT. Call us toll-free at 800.227.5328.

    We know this is a difficult time, and we want our members to know that we are here for you always. We live, work and play in the same local communities as you. If you or your family are experiencing financial hardship due to the impact of the Coronavirus, do not hesitate to reach out. Our lines of communication are open, and we are always here for you.

  • Branch Lobbies Open

    As of Monday, September 28, 2020, all AFFCU branch lobbies in San Antonio, Texas and Columbus, Mississippi are now open.

    • The AFFCU branch lobby in Del Rio, Texas will remain closed to the public and available by appointment only. Branch drive-thru lanes will be open at all locations.
    • Branch lobbies will have a maximum person capacity specific to their location.
    • Once capacity is reached, members and/or visitors may wait outside the doors, or leave a phone number and wait inside their vehicles until contacted.
    • AFFCU Health Policy and COVID-19 signage will be posted at each branch.
    • The Main Branch on JBSA–Lackland will be closed for lobby and drive thru services on Saturdays.

    Entering a Branch Lobby

    • Members and/or visitors will be expected to wear a mask/face covering when approaching, and while inside and exiting the branch.
    • Members and/or visitors will be asked to read and answer COVID-19 health screening questions and be symptom free.
    • Members and/or visitors who do not wish to wear a mask, will be asked to use a remote service for their request.
    • No food or beverages may be brought into the branch.
    • Lobby assistance for Membership, Account Services, and Lending will be provided through the interactive offices.
    • Offices and high touch areas will be wiped down after use.
    • Signage is in place throughout the branches to promote social distancing guidelines.
    • Acrylic shields are installed at where members complete transactions.
    • Restroom access and refreshments, such as coffee and water, will not be available inside the branches.
    • Branches will practice a no contact approach, no hand shaking or other physical contact.

  • Del Rio Lobby Access

    Del Rio Lobby Access by Appointment Only

    • Lobby appointment times will be available Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM CT, and will be no more than 90 minutes.
    • Late lobby appointments of more than 15 minutes will be canceled to ensure we safely serve all scheduled members.
    • In-person lobby appointments can be scheduled by emailing or by calling 210.678.5208.
    • The branch drive-thru lanes will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM CT and Saturday from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM CT.
    • To ensure the safety and well-being of our employees, screening questions will be asked while scheduling the appointment and before entering a branch.
  • Financial Relief

    Financial Relief For Our Members

    We are temporarily offering several emergency loan relief programs to assist our members who are encountering financial hardship due to the impact of the Coronavirus.

    • Loan Extension Program
      You can now skip your payments for the next 60 days on your eligible AFFCU loan without paying a fee, and we are making the application process easy and stress-free. Simply call our Member Contact Center, answer a few questions and you’re done!  If you would like to request a loan extension on your AFFCU loan, call us today at 800.227.5328* Important: Interest will continue to accrue during the deferment period. Payment relief offer does not represent debt forgiveness.
    • Auto Loan Payment Relief
      Whether you’re refinancing your existing auto loan, or buying a new or used car, we are here to help. We have extended our payment period, to no payment being required for the next 45 days. Take a much needed break from your car payment. Click here to learn more and apply today.
    • Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) Loans
      AFFCU is no longer be accepting Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan applications as of June 25, 2020, but we still offer one of the best work perks ever – credit union membership with AFFCU. We invite you to join our field of membership today! Learn More.

    Financial Assistance

    In an effort to help our members and make life a little easier during these difficult times, the following enhancements are now available and fees will be waived effective immediately:

    • No limits on transfers from Savings accounts.

    Financial Education

    AFFCU has partnered with EVERFI, a financial education platform, to help both adults and children learn tips for managing their money – all for FREE. AFFCU members can sign up for free interactive courses online, covering topics like saving, budgeting, using credit, calculating the costs of college, and paying off auto loans. Being armed with the right financial knowledge can protect your financial well-being and support your goals during this difficult time. Here are a few resources to use right now:

    • Financial Education Center: 2-7 interactive lessons on key financial topics.
    • Money Management: Learn about managing your money as a service member or a civilian.
    • K-12 Family Portal: 20+ digital courses for students in grades K-12, for a limited time only. Learn about financial education, mental wellness, compassion, digital awareness and more.

    Economic Impact Payments (EIP)

    • Direct deposit payments for government EIP or stimulus checks have started going out the week of April 12. If you’re eligible, the IRS will either send you a deposit via direct deposit or a paper check. Please check CyberMAT online banking or the Go AFFCU Mobile App to view any pending payments. Visit for additional details or clarifications.
    • The IRS has started issuing EIP and CARES Act funds on a pre-paid debit card (EIP Card). This card requires a PIN and members can request a cash advance at an AFFCU branch. Identification is required when completing a cash advance request. Visit for additional details or clarifications about the EIP cards.

    *Cash advances are limited to the funds available on the card and a $5 fee is assessed after the first bank/credit union cash withdrawal (advance). It is the responsibility of the member to understand the restrictions on their card.
