Get ready to mark your calendars! We have some exciting news! Friday, April 27, 2018 will be an important day to remember at your credit union. This is the day that Local 142, a San Antonio-based credit union, will merge with AFFCU.

The board of directors for Local 142 and AFFCU had a discussion about a potential merger late last year. Once both boards agreed to it, it was up to Local 142’s membership to vote for or against it. Their members were overwhelmingly in favor of the merger. This all happened in the month of February.

We have since been working on completing the merger. This includes onboarding and providing services to our new Local 142 members.

Local 142 is one of 300 organizations that are a part of the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry in the U.S. and Canada. They are approximately 2,700 members strong and have one branch located in San Antonio.

What does this mean to you? Well, you now have a new location in which to conduct business! We invite you to stop by and visit with us at our new branch address, 501 W. Quincy St., located in downtown San Antonio.

We’re excited to welcome our new Local 142 members. We know that they will come to enjoy the same great service and hospitality our staff provides to all our members, both long-standing and new. It’s a sign of good days ahead for AFFCU, and we’re excited to have you be a part of this thrilling adventure.

As always, I remain in service to you,

Robert “Bob” Glenn
President/CEO
